804.Hema-INDIA
PLEASE DON'T POLUTE THE "ONE AND ONLY" NON-POLUTED ISTITUTES-IITS.

806.C Ramprasad-India
I perfectly agree with what's said in the article

810.Ashvani Kumar Shukla-India
IIT is a brand name and it is because of the quality the IITians have. More number of IITs will not make any difference instead the reputation which IITs have will go down and so of the Indian education.

The boost to be given to the suggested colleges should not be the name ...

819.Sudhir Sekharan-India
I request you to consider the petition seriously as i feel very strongly that it is in the best interests of the nation

823.Arundhuti-Australia
As a Training and Development specialist and a non IITian, I strongly urge the Indian Government to not dilute the IITian name by expanding the number of IIT's. A name will not enhance the standards of education already established and there has to be exclusivity around Institutions of Education especially when they are world class like the IIT's are.

You do NOT want the standards to go down as these IIT's are now perceived very highly by the world and are a Global passport to excellence.

I agree totally with the HIT concept-after all once upon a time the Nanyang Institute of Technology was not considered good but with the emphasis the Singapore Government has placed on this, it is now a Icon and I would model the HITS on this.

832.Vishwas Arora-India
I totally agree with the petition..and i request the persons concerned to pay proper attention to it.

834.Vinay Tibrewal-India
The whole idea of building more IITs is a socialistic one. And one which has no use. The institutes should be a brand in themselves. They should not need an IIT tag to attract good students and teachers. The worst thing about all of this is that students join a "branded" univ, and give up a branch of their choice which they could get in an "unbranded" but not necessarily an inferior university. We should strive on building multiple brands like harvard, Oxford, Stanford and the like; rather than the IIX (I am talking about both IITs and IIMs here) brand.

838.kedar-india
do not let such a decision be taken which is so much in disinterest of the students of IITs and the coming generation of students.

851.Varun Bhalerao-India
Let IITs stay IITs, other institutes dont need brand name to improve standards. At best, the name IIT could be conferred upon them AFTER they outperform any of the existing iits in considerable academic spheres

852.Amit Deshwal-India The appeal says it all... I strongly feel that Hon. PM and HRD Minister should take note of it and plan accordingly

867.Ashkar Ali A-India
this will be one of the most stupid actions as i feel......... its a strong violation of fundamental rights to demoralize IITs.....

879.Abhijeet Singh -India
Other institutes should be provided all facilities except brandname of IIT

886.Rahul Nahar-India increasing the number od iits will definitely lower their brand value incresing the number of students in iits will deifnitely lower the quality of students passing out

889.tejo deepthi-INDIA
I strongly agree with the above petition and would equest hte HRD. Minister to take this issue seriously.

898.Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari-India
We are making the brand not the cheap labour

902.shyam shroff-India
I think dilution of IITs will decrese the standard of the education in the institute. Please try to improve the standard of other institutes & let them make there own status even higher than IIT, but not on the name of IIT.

903.Karthik-India
Do not change the pattern of JEE either. Let it be the rigorous written test that it has always been.

911.Devdutt Marathe,IITM Class of '05-USA
I believe that the power to create new IITs or to designate existing colleges as IITs should only be in the hands of a Council consisting of the Directors and the Boards of Governors of the existing IITs. The Council must also include some alumni of the existing IITs. Also, the IIT tag must be copyrighted and this Council must be the only Body empowered to protect and extend the use of that copyright.

This measure, which serves only to earn political points from the states by designating certain colleges as IITs without any concomitant improvement in the infrastructure and the quality of faculty and students is deplorable and deserves to be condemned in the strongest of words.

915.Rahul Babbar-India
Why not rename India as a state of U.S. simply because it is more developed?

A barrel of wine + a drop of sewage = sewage,
A barrel of sewage + a drop of wine = sewage.
Period

930.Vishal Saxena-USA
Please stop fiddling around with the IITs.
Reduce reservations and maintain the quality of education and students

933.Sarbjot Singh Kalsi-India
The concept of HIT or any other name for that matter excpet IIT is amazing as it will give IITs a better competition in INDIA also this will make the engineering scence very similar to the management studies where there are alternatives to IIMs like XLRI, FMS, IIFT and many other institutes

935.pratyush-india
abide by the sugestion stated in above plea

937.S.Manohar-India
The brand name of the IIT's is a result of decades of dedicated hard work by it's alumni.,making more IIT's will only bring down the image of the IIT's.

938.R.Kumar-India
In a nutshell, brand dilution, however noble the intentions to push for a makeover in the overall quality of higher education in the country may be. I strongly endorse this petition.

990.Ankit Jain-India
IITs are nations' pride..conserve their pristege

995.Rahul-India
It is important that the brand name of IITs be preserved, which will be very diluted, with uptake of more colleges into this name or by increasing the intake of more students than what it stands now.

997.RAHUL GUPTA-INDIA, IET-DAVV,INDORE B.E.
lets have a healthy competition by saving the brand of IIT's COMP. II YEAR

998.pradeep p.n.v-India B.Tech, IITMADRAS
since india's population has multiplied, let us multply the number of pm's and hrd ministers too proportionately, for a better and more efficient administration lets also have reservations too for a few PRIME MINSTER posts and a few HRD Ministers post and your party can garner even more votes and have more PM'S AND HRD MINISTERS in the next election
