No More IITs Petition - Comments 1500-1700

1501.santosh kumar kaushik-india
with sincere hope that the congress government will continue its legacy and will not involve itself into some unfruitful, demoralising and propaganda politics. this is not only about iit's but also about ethical practices that the congress party has been preserving for 100 years.

1504.rahul india-iit
is what its people make it and not what some one names it

1505.Mohit Talwar-India
I fully agree to the petition Goverrnment should not create new IITs. It will dilute the elite IIT brand highly

1513.shyam kumar-India-M.Tech; IITK; 2002
mere changing the name of other Engineering colleges to IIT will not be make their standard and quality of education like in IIT's. If you want to make more IIT's start a fresh one

1523.Sumit Singhal-India
I completely agree with the petition and stand by its side.

1530.K. Pradeep Kumar ( M.Tech., NIFFT )
India Changing the branded name which has been carried by the IIT's for the past 50 years will promote a confusion and lead to a disaster among the NRI's and the Indian Students

1534.land kata balatkari-
laura maa chudao.. koi naam rakhne se iit nahin ban jayega, jitne iit hein usme job nahin milta hai.. baki kya khaak karoge iit status deke

1537.hstulip-india
lets protest all together and make it a national issue, use media and make it a national debate, lets all of us assemble along with the faculty members to unrest this move.lets unite ourselves and take out a peace march in delhi during the vaction

1538.Prashant Agrawal-India
I completely agree with the petition and stand by its side.

1550.Srinath Chigullapalli-USA
It just reduces the quality of IIT's.What we have now are good enough. 2000 student intake was good

1553.Saurabh Gupta-INDIA
IIT is not a college named IIT. Its IIT that is a college. Its not just the name which makes an IITian, it is THE EXPERIENCE which makes him IITian. This cant and shoudn't be duplicated.

1559.Revathy-INDIA
It is essential to provide the IIT standards allover the country for better education

1568.Subit Saurav-IITG
just giving the IIT tag to the proposed institute is not going to help niether the institutes nor the students who will be studying there

1574.venkat-india
it is previlaze to make such institutes in india

1591.naveen-India
Fully agree with the petition to preserve the IIT brand

1592.Aananth CN-India-2000 Passed out IIT Madras:
I too feel this will dilute the brand name of IIT. Let government set targets for NITs to achieve the same name (as of IITs) in another 15 years. If this is not possible, it is evident that we are diluting the brand name of IIT. Let us not do
this.

1593.Rajiv Krishnan-India
I very strongly agree with this petition. Instead of renaming the existing institutes as IIT, fund them and encourage them to improve their standards.

1595.Meenakshisundaram V-USA
It hurts India to dilute its top brands

1598.rachit goyal-india
dont spoil quality of brand name "iit"

1602.rahul saxena-india
its my strong plea to preserve iit brand.it will effect the future of all thousands of iitians.7 are enough

1605.Y N SAIRAM-INDIA
I strongly support this argument.....Pls dont dilute the brand of "IIT",which has been created by our own intellectual property (both students and as well Professors) working hard with several sleepless nights for about half a century down to this moment.

IITs are different from rest of the colleges in our country not just in matters of its autonomy, or for just the kind of benifits and funds it enjoys from the central government but for its professsors, students, alumni and ofcourse thier achievements and their vision.

And finally one important thing to consider seriously..........before you call any other college an IIT........The brand of "IIT" has naturally come from the success of its intellectual property in diverse technology areas across the globe. So a college should earn a brand by its own through its own intellectual property. So no institute on this earth has any right to share this brand unless it proved its worth like IITs having been doing making our nation proud for its intellectuality.

1614.Manish Sharma-India
A blunder........ instead the IITs should be made better

1618.Sundar Seshadri-USA
Yes, I agree. IIT culture and pedigree will be totally diluted if randomly more IITs are opened

1628.jawanth vytheeswaran-USA
I strongly oppose the name change of REC/NIT

1632.John C. Camillus-USA
Based on my extensive work experience in India and the US, I cannot overstate the value of the IIT name for both IIT graduates and the country. The IIT brand now creates ooportunities that would be lost if it is diluted. In a world where we have to compete for opportunities with equally capable individuals from other countries, the IIT name gives us an edge that is truly invaluable.

1650.PAULSON PAUL M-INDIA
something very much requiring immediate and adequate consideration by GoI. GoI should allow a national level debate over this issue as such decisions once taken can't be reversed

1661.vineet choudhury-india
save IIT... dont destroy its charm and passion...dont degrade it

1663.Anup Bishnoi-India
i totally agree with the points put in the petition and am very much in support of it.

1696.venugopalreddy.G-India
It is a good idea not to dilute IIT's repute
